He received his Ph.D. degree as a Doctor of Telecommunication Engineering in 2004 from UPM. Since 1991 he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Telematic and Electronic Engineering (formerly Department of Electronic and Control Systems) at UPM, of which he was Secretary from 2000 to 2004 and 2008 to 2009 and Deputy Director from 2009 to 2012. From 1997 to 2004 he developed his research activity within the Real-Time Systems research Group of UPM. Since 2004 he is a member of the Electronic and Microelectronic Design Group (GDEM), integrated in CITSEM since 2011 and of which he was Secretary from 2016 to 2017. He is coauthor of a number of technical publications and has participated in numerous research projects. His present research interests include control systems and multimedia systems, particularly the application of the former to the energy optimization of the latter.
